New BiCentennial Village Haunted by Ghost of Frat Boy’s Past
Campus housing has a spirit problem; and not the kind you can pour into a Solo cup. Not soon after the New Residence Facility opened its doors August 18th, reports of a haunting have begun to emerge. Located behind Centenary Square, the village now stands where the old TKE house once stood. A small vigil of grieving fraternity brothers could be seen huddled together, watching as the building was demolished to make way for the new complex. Though the house has been relocated; some allege a powerful energy remains.
When pressed, university officials insist that there is “no credible evidence of a haunting of any type.” However upon further investigation a more chilling narrative emerged.
Residents have reported classic paranormal phenomena: spectral beer pong clinks in the dead of night, spontaneous wafts of blue razz vape juice with no visible source, and—most unsettlingly—the faint, rhythmic thump of Pitbull’s “Hotel Room Service” echoing through the halls every Friday at 11:34 p.m. sharp.
“It’s definitely haunted,” said one student, who requested anonymity “because I’m not sure if telling y’all this would be a write up.” “Like, I swear I saw a toga drift by my door. I thought it was a laundry sheet, but then it called me ‘bro.’”
Experts agree, Residence Life Director and unofficial Centenary ghost expert, Katherine Shamburger confirms off the record (sorry Katherine) that these instances are in fact textbook evidence of a residual energy haunting. Or a haunting that occurs now because an individual has passed on but because there has been a consistent and sustained energy present in one location. However, Shamburger advises against “trying to make contact of any kind as candles still are not permitted in the residence halls.”
Despite the risks, reporters from The Conglomerate are assembling a team of amateur ghost hunters in an effort to make contact (in a way that aligns with dorm policy.)
