Callie Fedd is a Centenary English alumna who graduated last spring and served as The Conglomerate’s Editor-in-Chief during her senior year of 2021-2022.

The Sub, the home of Centenary’s newspaper now online, does have some creepy aspects to it- the third floor at night definitely gives one the spooks, as does the basement, with its dim, fluorescent lighting that might flicker at the most unnerving times. But the Sub does not have ghosts in it, despite all this… but it does have two people within it who are intimately familiar with the ghosts at Centenary, ones that you’re more likely to encounter if you live on campus: the Dorm hauntings.

On September 21st, RAs McKenzie Olinger and Kiara Liedy held a program in James Lobby called Ask a Professor. The program consisted of a panel of six different professors who were all from different disciplines. The panelist were Dr. Jones-Pierce (English), Dr. Johnson (education), Dr. Friesenhahn (political science), Dr. Alexander (psychology), Dr. Chirhart (biology), and Dr. Reid (mathematics). The program also included Dr. Johnson, the director of the Center for Teaching and Learning.

Welcome back to everyone’s favorite series from the Conglomerate! This issue I wanted to highlight a hidden gem: Columbia Park. This park is even closer to campus than Betty Virginia. But its location is more embedded in its neighborhood than Betty Virginia, so it’s easier to miss. Though this park is small, there are still many parts that make it a lovely pocket of land inside the chaos of the City of Shreveport. Let’s get into the review!

There have been few films I have been as excited for as much as I was for Don’t Worry Darling. After seeing Midsommar a few years ago, Florence Pugh quickly became my favorite actress, and I was eager to consume every piece of media she appeared in.

Halina Reijn directed the recently released comedy horror movie Bodies Bodies Bodies. Reijn has directed movies before, but Bodies Bodies Bodies has the highest ranking with a 86% on Rotten Tomatoes with an additional score of 69% audience score.

Welcome to the second installment of the Centenary’s Backyard series! This issue, I will be talking about the Bossier access point of the Red River National Wildlife Refuge.

As I welcome you to a new school year, I am also welcoming you to a new series of articles: “Centenary’s Backyard.” The goal of this series is to introduce the nearby city, parish/county, state, and even national parks, refuges, and forests to our readers.

LA Easly is a great friend of mine that I made this year, as well as someone I have always looked up to in class because of her confidence, grace, and ability to express herself so eloquently. She is also the former section head for the Sports section of The Conglomerate.

In case you didn’t already know, Callie Fedd has been our amazing Editor-in-chief this year, and I don’t think any of us could have asked for a better person to lead our newspaper. Leading is something that Callie did a lot of in her time at Centenary.

One of the most popular and entertaining sections of the Congo is easily the Op/Ed section, and it is largely due to its amazing section head LC Moffitt. The Op/Ed section is truly unique, often featuring a range of articles and the infamous “Misc. BS” that has never failed to disappoint.

To our brilliant local scientist and photographer, may this stand as a reminder of all of the wonderful things that you—a woman in STEM—can do.

During Remi’s Junior year, she served as the Conglomerate’s 2021-2022 Multimedia Editor. While finding writers for articles was hard enough due to a packed publishing schedule and most students already being heavily involved in clubs, Remi had the hard job of creating a whole new vision for the Congo and finding people to see that vision come to life.
